Dr Eggins has lived and worked in the Maleny hinterland since moving here in 2002 with her husband and three children.
She studied medicine at the University of Queensland and graduated in 1994. She began her career at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane before moving into general practice, initially in Brisbane.
Dr Eggins has a special interest in skin cancer medicine and has obtained a Certificate in Skin Cancer Management through the Australasian College of Skin Cancer Medicine, as well as additional studies in advanced dermoscopy.
Dr Eggins feels extremely privileged that general practice allows her to care for families in her community throughout the years in a “from the cradle to the grave” scenario.
Outside of medicine, Dr Eggins enjoys snowboarding with her sons, dance and patchwork with her daughter and 4-Wheel driving or travel adventures with her husband.
For true relaxation, Dr Eggins feels there is nothing better than reading a good book whilst lying in a hammock at the beach.

Dr Van Eck graduated from her medical studies at the University Centre of Limburg, Belgium, in 2005.
She has worked in a number of different countries, including several locations in Africa and the Netherlands.
Since emigrating to Australia in 2012, she has worked in general practice, as well as some supervisory work with medical students and registrars.
In 2013, Dr Van Eck completed her fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
In her spare time, she enjoys motherhood, tennis and walking/hiking.

Skin Cancer Doctor, Male, FRACGP, MBChB, PhD
Professor David Wilkinson is a Specialist General Practitioner with a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine. He is widely recognised as a leader in the field, with two decades experience in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment (including surgery). He has trained more than 7000 GPs how to do skin cancer, through more than 100 workshops over 16 years, and has published original research and written 2 textbooks.
He is a leading advocate for new medical technologies such as total body photography and ensures his clinical practice is informed by the latest research.
David was Dean of Medicine at The University of Queensland for eight years, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Macquarie University for eight years before moving to a large property in Curramore. He is committed to providing truly world-class skin cancer services to the community of Maleny, the Blackall Range and beyond.
David’s medical degree was earned at the University of Manchester, UK, and he holds a master's degree in epidemiology from Columbia University, and a PhD from the University of South Australia.
Professor Wilkinson only sees clients for skin checks, skin cancer treatments and patients at risk of skin cancer. Aesthetics treatments are no longer offered.
Due to very high demand there is a significant delay to see Professor Wilkinson. However, if you have an urgent issue, or a spot or lesion that requires prompt review, please phone the clinic and advise Reception. We will make a 5-minute appointment to allow David to assess the situation promptly.

Dr Ann-Marie Baker enjoys antenatal care, women’s health, paediatrics, mental health and ongoing care of chronic diseases.
Dr Ann-Marie studied medicine at the University of Western Australia (UWA). She completed her internship on the Sunshine Coast then moved back to WA and worked at various hospitals in adult care, Obstetrics/Gynaecology and Paediatrics. She has worked as a GP in Caloundra, QLD and Aboriginal Health in WA.
Dr Ann-Marie has studied her diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as well as Paediatrics through the Child Health Program. Outside of medicine, she enjoys going for walks with her young children, playing tennis, travelling and dining out.
Dr Ann-Marie Baker returned to live in the Hinterland in late 2019. Appointments available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and new patients are welcome.

Anita obtained her MD from Flinders University in Adelaide, graduating in 2014 before settling with her husband in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. She started her professional life practicing as a pharmacist before commencing her medical studies which provided a sound knowledge base to move into General Practice. She has obtained her fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Anita enjoys all aspects of General Practice and chose this field due to the rewards of building relationships with her patients and providing thorough care across the lifespan.
She has a special interest in women’s health, menopause management and paediatrics and has completed a Diploma in Child Health through the University of Sydney in 2017.
Other areas of special interest include the care of mothers and babies and Anita has undergone accreditation in the area of Neuroprotective Developmental Care also known as ‘the Possums program’- an integrated approach assisting families with issues around breastfeeding, sleep, unsettled infant behaviour and parental mental health challenges.
Anita is a member of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine- an exciting field applying evidence based lifestyle interventions in areas such as nutrition, physical activity and stress reduction to treat disease and promote good health. She has also undergone additional education in Advanced Mental Health Skills Training/Focussed Psychological Strategies and enjoys utilising these in her practice.
Outside of work she is kept busy looking after her three young children and small acreage property. She enjoys good coffee, a good book and keeping active.

Antony grew up in Maleny and, ever since departing for medical school, has wanted to return to be a local doctor in the community.
He studied Biotechnology Innovation at QUT and then went on to medicine at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2017 with an MD. As a student, he completed his research project in motor Neuron disease and spent time in a UK neurology department and in far West Queensland with the RFDS.
Antony has always known he wanted to specialise in General Practice as he enjoys person-centred care throughout all stages of life and treating a variety of conditions. Special interests include neurology, dermatology, and endocrinology.
In his free time, Antony enjoys walking, playing guitar, board games, and collecting LEGO.

Dr Booker had a practice for 25 years on the north side of Brisbane. On semi-retiring, he moved to Montville and has recently moved to Fig Tree Maleny.
Dr Booker also works in remote communities and hospitals all around Australia. He finds country work is rewarding professionally and will be continuing practice in Fig Tree Medical Maleny for the foreseeable future.
Dr Booker has had a special interest in many areas of medicine over the years including mental health, chronic headaches, women’s and children’s health and preventative medicine. He now considers himself a generalist striving to improve the health of people he sees.

Dr. Sam Manger has been a dedicated GP on the Sunshine Coast since 2015, where he resides with his wife, Dr. Anita Manger, also a General Practitioner. Together, they’ve built a close-knit life on a small acreage with their three children, while establishing strong ties within the Hinterland community.
Dr. Manger completed his medical studies at the University of Queensland and has garnered multiple accolades, including the prestigious RACGP QLD GP of the Year Award and the highest score in the RACGP Fellowship examinations. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Manger is a Senior Lecturer and Academic Lead of Lifestyle Medicine at James Cook University College of Medicine. He also serves as an Advisor to the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), is an Ambassador for Equally Well Australia, Vice-President of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM), and hosts The GP Show podcast, a popular resource for health professionals.
Dr. Manger’s medical expertise focuses on holistic, patient-centered approaches that address lifestyle and social factors influencing health, particularly in managing chronic mental and physical illnesses. His interests also span new models of care, research, and education.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Manger enjoys the peace and vitality of rural living. He practices meditation, breathwork, movement, and cherishes time spent with his family.
